The whisky bottle "Pillage 12yo Celtic Pillage 2005" is a unique expression that contains a blend of Scotch whiskies from nine different distilleries, including those from Islay, Jura, and Bushmills in Northern Ireland. This whisky is truly unique because it was "pillaged" from each distillery for charity during the summer of 2005, with all of the whisky used being at least twelve years old.
The whisky was collected by crews from the distilleries who traveled by boat to each location over a three-day period. A total of 40 liters of 12-year-old malt was collected from each distillery and decanted into a cask, which was then warehoused in Lagavulin Distillery to marry until March 2006. The final product was bottled at Bruichladdich distillery on February 27, 2006.
This bottle is one of only 500 that were released to help raise money for the Children's Hospice Association Scotland & Northern Ireland Hospice. It is a truly unique and special whisky that not only tastes great but also supports a worthy cause.
