Known for his social reforms and his role in the establishment of the premium whisky industry, he became a symbol of Welsh national awakening and a headliner of his time. Penderyn The Headliner is a unique whisky matured in Jamaican rum and Ruby port casks, showcasing the essential role of wood aging in whisky production and its connection to Wales. This edition is a celebration of a historical law from 1915, introduced by the Welsh Prime Minister, which mandated a minimum aging of three years and a day in wooden casks for whisky, setting the foundation for the exceptional quality of Welsh whisky. This single malt whisky boasts rich, sweet flavors of dried fruits, salted caramel, floral honey, and a spicy kick of black pepper with a tannin dryness. Notes of red berries, strawberries, and cream, with a hint of cranberries, light oak, and vanilla, are complemented by nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Penderyn distillery, located in the Brecon Beacons national park, was established in 2000 as the first legal whisky distillery in Wales in over a century. Known for their innovative approach and unconstrained by Scotch whisky regulations, Penderyn's all-female distillation team uses unusual stills and embraces cask finishing. This limited edition of 50 bottles, released in 2022, is presented in a box with original paper wrapping, weighing approximately 1.47kg.
