Founded in 1789 in Tullibody, Alloa, the distillery was rebuilt in 1957 and began producing whisky, primarily for blending. No official bottlings were ever released during its operation, and the distillery closed in 1980. This unique release comes from six bourbon casks acquired in 1964 by a friend of the distillery founders and was recently bottled at cask strength.
