It was exclusively produced for the Friends Of Laphroaig's 21st Birthday and was never available in retail stores, making it a highly coveted item among collectors and aficionados. This limited edition whisky was matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks, with some of the casks being air dried instead of kiln dried. Bottled at 48.4% ABV, only approximately 13,000 bottles were released. With over 680,000 Friends of Laphroaig members, the demand for this rare whisky was exceptionally high.
