Kininvie distillery, founded in 1990, is a relatively young distillery in Scotland, located on the grounds of the Balvenie distillery and owned by William Grant & Sons. Although initially not intended to produce a standalone malt for the market, the limited whisky releases from Kininvie have gained considerable popularity over the years. The distillery shares mash tuns and washbacks with the Balvenie distillery.
The Kininvie 23-year-old Scotch is the first new Speyside single malt from the Grant family since The Balvenie. It spent its aging period in a combination of former bourbon hogsheads (80%) and sherry butts (20%). Each 350ml bottle is individually numbered and hand-signed, making it a collector's item.
