I might be in the minority, but I'm very much enjoying this whisky, and considering the price, it has quite a lot to offer. Even though a fresh pour initially has some alcohol nip, adding some water and letting the dram sit and vaporize for 30-60 minutes shows substantial development in the whisky. The nose offers an interesting combination of plums, raisins, vanilla, and a little bit of smoke, while the palate unveils very sweet honey, oaky wood, and more matchbox smokiness. The finishing smoke lingers for a while until it reveals fresh plums once again. Overall, it's fruity, woody, and smoky—quite enjoyable.
