The GlenAllachie 15 Year Old Scottish Virgin Oak Finish is a distinguished limited edition from Batch 2 of the Virgin Oak Series. This whisky has been matured for 15 years in American oak ex-bourbon barrels before being finished for approximately 18 months in rare Scottish Sessile oak casks, sourced from the Atlantic coast. The use of Scottish oak for whisky maturation is a rarity due to its high cost, scarcity, and the wood's propensity to knot. These casks, after being air-dried for 36 months and subsequently toasted and charred to a medium level, impart a uniquely indulgent sweetness to the whisky.
This exceptional whisky is bottled at 48% ABV and is presented in a 700ml bottle. Only 2,250 bottles were produced in 2022, making it a truly exclusive release.
