This is the first Irish whiskey produced in Connacht in 105 years. The whiskey is distilled using a combination of malted and un-malted Irish barley, as well as a small quantity of Irish Barra oats. The spirit is then matured in first fill ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, resulting in a rich and flavorful whiskey.
This inaugural release is particularly special as it contains whiskey from the very first cask distilled at the Shed Distillery, on December 21, 2014. The whiskey is triple distilled and aged in a combination of Sherry Oloroso and Kentucky Bourbon casks. The final product is a unique and limited edition, with a mash bill of malted Irish barley, un-malted Irish barley, and Irish Barra oats. The whiskey is bottled at a strength of 46% ABV and is presented in a new condition, in a 700ml bottle.

A very decent dram - shame that it's more likely to sit in the bottle rather than being supped. Nose 83 83 Mr Kipling's Country Slices - sweet, cake, fruit. Taste 84 84 Rhubarb and custard, some spice, followed by more custard notes - vanilla. Finish 84 84 Lingers pleasantly - like Ambrosia custard.
