The new make spirit, now at 75% ABV, is reduced to 63.5% ABV before being laid to rest in carefully selected casks. For the Cotswolds Reserve Single Malt Whisky, the distillery team primarily uses first-fill bourbon barrels, and a portion from red wine barrels is blended in, resulting in a whisky bottled at a hearty 50% ABV.
