The Bivrost Nidavellir Arctic Single Malt Whisky is a limited edition bottle handcrafted under the Northern Lights in Arctic Norway, specifically at the foot of the Lyngen Alps within the Arctic Circle. Produced by the Aurora Spirit Distillery, this whisky benefits from a unique maturation process that takes place in the distillery’s network of underground tunnels, which were originally part of a disused NATO Cold War base. Bivrost Nidavellir is the second release in the "nine worlds of Norse mythology" series. This whisky is crafted from Nordic barley, fermented with glacial meltwater from the Lyngen Alps, and distilled in a state-of-the-art still. Initially matured in bourbon casks, it undergoes an additional finishing period of 5-6 months in ex-Islay barrique casks. Bottled at 46% ABV and with a volume of 500ml, this unique expression is highly collectible, with the first permanent range planned for release in 2025. Nidavellir, in particular, is a bourbon cask-focused expression, triple matured and drawn from a vatting of bourbon, sherry, and virgin oak casks. The new make spirit is distilled using Nordic barley and pilsner malt, with water sourced from a local spring that receives melted glacier water from the Lyngen alpine range. The result is a rich, aromatic whisky that showcases the unique terroir of its Arctic origins.
