Bivrost Alfheim Arctic Single Malt Whisky is a product of the Northernmost distillery in the world, Aurora Spirit, located in Arctic Norway at 69 degrees North. This whisky is the eighth release in a limited-edition series of nine, inspired by the nine worlds of Norse mythology, with each release focusing on a different world. Alfheim, the land of the Elves, is the focus of this release. This exquisite whisky is a fusion of modern distilling technology and tradition, crafted from Nordic barley, distilled in state-of-the-art stills, and diluted with pristine glacial meltwater. It has been matured in carefully selected ex-Bourbon casks and virgin casks made from various oak types from around the world, including French oak, American Oak, Chinquapin oak, and Colombian oak. The maturation process takes place in an old, underground NATO storage, as well as a modern viking longhouse, characterized by significant temperature variations and an average yearly temperature of only 0.6°C. Alfheim is a maritime world, ruled over by the god Freyr, associated with male virility, sunshine, and fair weather. This whisky is handcrafted to embody the essence of this world and the deity who governs it. The first twenty bottles of each release are presented in wooden display boxes, hand-crafted at the distillery. With only 4508 bottles available, this whisky is a unique and special product, reflecting the meticulous care and attention given to every stage of its production. Bottled in 2023 at 46% ABV, this 500 ml bottle offers an unparalleled tasting experience straight from the heart of Norway.
