This Caroni rum is an outstanding example of the distillery’s unique style. It presents an array of aromas including passion fruit, fresh green mint, honey, and incense, alongside metallic and harmonious fruity notes. It is very drinkable with a notably long finish, making it ideal for daiquiris.
The nose offers a fresh and mechanical workshop aroma combined with fruits, creating a delightful surprise. However, upon tasting, the flavors seem diluted, possibly due to lack of aging. The finish is equally diluted, making it less impressive compared to other Caroni Velier rums.
For a 12-year-old rum, it is surprisingly complex, featuring typical Caroni notes such as rubber and bicycle tire, with underlying fruity hints of pear. The finish is dry and slightly bitter.
This is an excellent entry-level Caroni, presenting typical aromas of burnt plastic, fruity smoke, pear, tobacco, and vanilla. While it may seem a bit thin for a Caroni on the palate, it still offers a pleasant drinking experience, with flavors of licorice, burnt plastic, tar, sweetness, and a hint of lovage.
