The scent profile is intricate, featuring sweet almond, cherry, and vegetal notes of pine needles and resin, which contribute to its youthful and vibrant character. Upon a brief period of aeration, the dominant banana notes mellow out, allowing the aroma to evolve into a more whisky-like character. This exceptional rum hails from the oldest distillery in Jamaica, established in 1710. The distillery resumed operations in 2005 after a long closure. Distilled in 2013, the rum was aged for nearly two years at the Worthy Park estate before being exported to Europe for an additional two and a half years of aging in a more temperate climate.
