Rum Nation's 1990 Demerara Sherry Wood Finish is a 23-year-old rum that was fermented and distilled in 1990, nine years before the Italian brand was founded by Fabio Rossi. This exquisite rum hails from the renowned Demerara distillery in Guyana. It was meticulously aged in oak barrels and bottled in 2014, resulting in a more elegant character than the 1989 vintage, with a more pronounced accent of sherry oloroso. After 23 years of maturation, this rum offers reminiscences of old Speyside Scotch whisky.
The elegant sweetness of the rum is accentuated by flavors that evoke herbal medicines, coffee, cinnamon, and quinine, giving it a unique and multifaceted character. The rich aroma of sherry keeps the rum from being overly sweet. The finish is warm and spicy, with delightful notes of dried fruit and spices.
