The Rest & Be Thankful Assemblage Jamaica Cask No.1 is a limited edition rum, with only 5,200 bottles available worldwide. This exceptional Jamaican rum, aged for 13 years, is a testament to authentic craftsmanship. It is a unique blend of five distinct rums from multiple renowned distilleries in Jamaica. The first rum, distilled in 2005 at New Yarmouth using a pot still, is complemented by another from Long Pond, also distilled in 2005. Clarendon Estate contributes two rums, distilled in column and pot stills in 2007. The final component of this blend is from Worthy Park in the parish of St Catherine, distilled in a pot still in 2008.
All these rums were meticulously aged and blended in Scotland, resulting in a total of 17 barrels. Bottling took place in September 2022, ensuring the rum was not subject to cold filtration, and its color remains natural. This bottling marks the first blend from the Rest & Be Thankful Whisky Company, producing 5,188 bottles.
This molasses rum, with an ABV of 46%, showcases a powerful and fruity aroma with notes of tropical fruits such as mango, pineapple, and passionfruit, complemented by a sweet undertone of vanilla. These aromatic impressions are mirrored in its rich, well-balanced taste, where exotic fruits are harmonized with flavors of licorice, spices, and salted caramel.
As a small batch production, this rum embodies the intricate blending of rums from four prestigious Jamaican distilleries: New Yarmouth (2005, pot still), Long Pond (2005, pot still), Clarendon Estate (2007, column still and pot still), and a rum distilled in a pot still from the village of Lluidas Vale. The blend underwent a 13-year continental aging process before being bottled in September 2022, maintaining 46% ABV, without cold filtration or added colorants.

Expect notes of tropical fruits, licorice, spices, salted caramel, and a hint of vanilla.
This rum presents an intense and complex profile, characterized by an interplay of overripe, fermented fruit, citric acidity, and tar. On the palate, it transitions from a sweet and fruity beginning to more pronounced notes of vanilla, spices, and light tar. The finish is particularly rich with wood and banana flavors. Some reviewers noted a certain dryness and a resemblance to scotch whisky, which adds a unique twist to the typical Jamaican rum experience. Overall, the rum is appreciated for its intricate blend and balance, though some found it less intense than expected due to its maturation and dilution. It's a pleasant sipper with a hint of adventure, perfect for those who enjoy nuanced and sophisticated rums.
