This inaugural bottling, part of an annual series, highlights the unique Barbadian terroir. The molasses used in this rum comes from estate-grown sugarcane harvested in 2016 and 2017. The entire process—from fermentation and distillation to maturation and blending—occurs on-site, ensuring an authentic and meticulously crafted spirit. In the glass, it presents a light golden hue, with captivating aromas of baked pear, freshly cut flowers, and dried fruit. On the palate, it delights with notes of roasted pineapple, leather, and anise. The finish reveals salty, coastal undertones, with hints of leather, star anise, and a subtle suggestion of banana.
This is the first single-estate rum from Mount Gay, showcasing the Barbadian terroir with molasses from estate-grown sugarcane, harvested, fermented, distilled, matured, and blended on-site.
