Introducing Les Freres de la Cote Reimonenq Blanc Dynamique, a unique rum from Guadeloupe that has journeyed across the Atlantic Ocean by sail. This collaboration between the Rhum Guadeloupe Club and the mariners of Les Freres de la Cote began with a meeting with one of Guadeloupe's rhum aging legends, Leopold Reimonenq. The result was a limited edition of white rhum aged in two Porto casks at 50% ABV on January 17, 2020.
These two casks were then loaded onto the sailing ship Gallant of the Blue Schooner Company for a five-month voyage. The rhum underwent a "dynamic aging" process during the journey, where the motion of the ocean and changing atmospheric conditions accelerated its maturation.
Upon arrival in France, the casks were assembled, bottled, waxed, and labeled by hand. This is a cask-strength rhum, with only 698 bottles produced. The rum was initially aged in two Porto casks, giving it a unique and rich flavor profile. This rum is a true testament to the art of sailing and the passion for fine rhum.
