The HSE 1998 Single Cask #42 is a remarkable rum that offers a delightful mix of greediness and vivacity, with a noticeable presence of the cask. The nose is rich with a variety of aromas including cocoa, dried and nuts fruits, spices, and tobacco, which becomes more prominent over time. The finish is long and warm, with evolving woodiness, dried fruits, and tobacco notes, all balanced perfectly without being heavy or overwhelming.
On the palate, the rum delivers a satisfying combination of dried fruits, wood, and spices, with alcohol that enhances the flavors without overpowering them. The end of the palate is particularly enjoyable, with a complex array of aromas.

Even after being open for more than an hour, the nose remains quite dark with notes of wood and earthy tones. The palate that follows is surprising, featuring candied fruits and sugarcane. It's very delicious and pleasant. Today, the prices have skyrocketed, which is a shame because it’s a very good rum.
The nose is very soft and delicious, round and woody/smooth. The palate is delicate with flavors of chocolate and brown sugar. It's like a real candy, very accessible.
A fantastic rum, but too expensive. The finish is quite long with the same flavors as on the palate.
I like the sample very much, and it’s a future bottle to buy because of the finesse in the mouth. I love it!
A prestigious rum for special occasions.

When we find an auction of a bottle you watch, we will notify you before it ends. You can disable all auction-related notifications or disable them for individual bottles.
