These rums are initially aged in ex-Bourbon casks for 3 to 5 years in their Caribbean origins. Afterward, the blend is further aged for an additional 7 months in casks from the renowned Talisker distillery, located on the Scottish Isle of Skye.
The influence of these whisky casks is evident in the bouquet, with initial notes of peat and smoke, making it easy to mistake this rum for a Scotch whisky at first sniff. However, as it opens up, the distinctive character of the rum emerges, revealing layers of vanilla, wood, and fruit.
