Père Labat located on the island Marie-Galante belongs to one of the oldest and also still operating distilleries.

History of the distillery building dates to the 19th century when it belonged under the Poisson estate. In the early stages, the building was used for prospering industry – the manufacture of sugar. A few years later at the turn of the century, Mr. Edouard Rameaux bought the estate, which was the major event in the history of Domaine Poisson.
Mr. Rameaux transformed the Poisson sugar refinery into Père Labat distillery. During the following years, Père Labat rum became one of the best rums from Guadeloupe. Later in 2007, Mr. Jean-Cédric Brot bought the distillery and modernized the production process. Spirits are made the traditional way from local fresh sugarcane that is fermented between 48 to 72 hours.
Père Labat Black Opus Millésime 2009 is agricultural rum distilled in 2009 which has aged for 11 years, 8 years in ex-Bourbon barrels, followed by 3 years in ex-Cognac barrels with 3 different types of heating. The aging process developed the aroma of vanilla, grapes, and fruit. This is a limited edition of 3024 bottles signed by cellar master Fulbert Mavouzi.
Père Labat 2004 Single Cask is a vintage rum matured for 13 years in oak barrels. This maturation along with the know-how of the cellar master developed an extraordinarily rich aroma, especially with fruits and honey.
Père Labat Dore is amber rum from Marie-Galante produced while keeping up with the traditional methods: precisely cultivated and hand-harvested. It has been aged in oak for a minimum of 18 months, which leads to a rich aroma. The nose opens with notes of dried fruits along with notes of coffee, and vanilla.
