One thing about rum is that it's a cocktail lover's best friend. Whether you're into mojitos, caipirinhas, daiquiris, or any other mixed alcoholic drink, the presence of rum can only make the recipe better. Unlike other rum brands, HSE rum proves how authentic rum should taste - sweet, fragrant, and smooth.
HSE rums are distilled from molasses, an end product of sugarcane. In terms of traditional sugarcane harvesting, quality fermentation, and other procedures of bringing forth the rum to life, the HSE brand stands tall. This brand combines professionalism and etiquette into one.

As a leading provider of rum-related products, the HSE brand is always trying to find new ways to improve its products and services. They select their cuvées based on innovative criteria, including pioneering maturation and aging models.
The home of HSE Rum, Saint Etienne estate, was initially bought in 1882 by Amedee Aubrey. As a prominent figure in the economy of Martinique with love for modern infrastructure, he went ahead to transform the sugar refinery into a vast farm distillery. This mighty modern tower consisted of 28 curved windows for maximum ventilation and nearby railways powered by a hydraulic system connected via a Stony canal running through a particular garden on the farm.
Later on, the Simonnet Family took over possession of the farm in 1909. They made efforts to develop the farm distillery into full-fledged activities until its downturn in the early 1980s.
After a series of financial troubles, Jose and Yves Hayot took back control of the HSE farm distillery in 1994. They relaunched the HSE brand and swung into restoring the great heritage of the HSE RUM. They also registered the distillery in the Additional Inventory of French Historical Monuments and remained a beautiful sight of Martinique's industrial architecture.
The HSE distillery combines uniqueness and expertise to produce world-class rums with quality taste and long shelf life. It uses the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée(AOC) label to certify the authenticity and quality, which are features associated with rums distilled in Martinique.
The distillery sources its main ingredient, sugarcane, from a particular species with its origin in Asia. Although the currently used sugarcane is a hybridization of different species from different parts of the world, the initial sugarcane species used is the tropical reed from the family grass, which was first imported in 1943 by Christopher Columbus to the West Indies.
Sugarcanes are mechanically harvested, then transported to the distillery. Workers wash the canes and cut them before passing through mills. After filtering, the juice is fermented in vats and distilled at 73 degrees. Rum is obtained during the process.
HSE is the first to produce white rums preserved, enhanced with aromas, and extended maturation. This rum was the first of its kind in 2000 and became a vintage product, with the 2012 version currently available.
The HSE brand has several types of rums, each other being spectacularly unique. Some of which are:
Black Sheriff is one of the Special Edition collections in the HSE Brand. The Black Sheriff rum is a mixture of three to four-year-old rums mainly aged in American bourbon barrels, sourced from Kentucky and Missouri states.
It contains honey nuances coated with woody notes giving off vanilla aromas and making the first taste a delightful and sweet impression in the mouth with an outburst of fruity flavors.
It tastes like an old, subtly fruity rum with a perfect balance in a specific round tempered glass bottle. This rum can be enjoyed alone or poured over the rocks for premium satisfaction.
A variety of the Expert Casks, the Small Cask is an extra old rum of the HSE brand that prides on its exceptional aromatic richness. It is aged in 55 liters small oak barrels, making it a great delight to lovers of premium rum.
Small Cask Rum is a delicate yet flavorful rum made with white-fleshed fruits, gingerbread, and prune. A hint of wood adds a touch of complexity.
Small Cask offers a balanced taste of freshness, smoothness, and a safe ride through the oath of scents. It also gives a great feel of the aromatic flavors from the mixture of the fruit tones and rare spices.
A member of the HSE Finish collection of rums, the Islay Finish is a vintage Agricole rum aged in oak barrels for 7 years and another year in Single Malt Whisky barrels.
The Islay Finish has tropical fruits like pineapple mixed with passion fruit. The combination appeals to taste buds with a wholesome blend.
This remarkable work of distillery architecture gives a balanced flavored taste from the blend of the tropical fruits and the smoky notes. These notes are more intense with aging and offer an all-around fruity flavor. This goodness of a rum comes in a 50cl glass bottle ready for your consumption with ice cubes.
With HSE RUM, you get quality rum without any artificial additives or chemical compounds. The uniqueness of the distillation process and the use of natural ingredients make HSE Rum stand out in a sea of cheap, mass-produced rums. But most of all, HSE RUM is the rum that delivers a smooth drinking experience with every strain.
