Bumbu

Bumbu logo

Bumbu is a cornerstone of Caribbean rum heritage. It is inspired by the ancient recipes produced by merchants and travelers in the 16th and 17th centuries who had the custom of mixing different spices into their rum - a technique distinct to the territory at a period when spices were valuable.

Bumbu is made in tiny amounts on the Caribbean island of Barbados. That's where the very first rum was produced over 400 years back, in 1688. The factory was established in 1893, and its stills date from 1840. Bumbu is a tribute to rum's origins.

Bumbu is a rum made from sugar cane trees meticulously picked by their master distillers from eight countries: Barbados, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Salvador, Guyana, and Honduras, all add to Bumbu's distinct fragrant identity.

A besmirched metal cross decorates Bumbu's distinctive, genuine, and vintage bottle appearance. 35° proof rum is ideal for drinking neat or on the rocks and is a favorite among elite tasters and bartenders. Bumbu is essential for every renowned bar, a work of art in all aspects that have already reached iconic status.

Bumbu (sometimes spelled bumbo or bumboo) is a rum-based cocktail mixed with water, sugar, and nutmeg. Cinnamon is occasionally used in place of or in addition to nutmeg. Bumbo is often prepared with black rum, citrus juice, grenadine, and nutmeg in contemporary times.

Bumbu was widely used in colonial British America throughout election campaigns. Gaining voters presents and other amenities during election campaigns was considered "swilling the planters with Bumbu". George Washington notably popularized this tactic. According to his documents, during his election for the Virginia House of Burgesses in July 1758, he spent 160 gallons of rum to entertain 391 voters.

Rum is produced in the Caribbean paradise renowned for its sea, sun, and sand. Did you know Barbados is commonly considered to be the source of this delectable golden treasure? Barbados began producing rum in the 17th century and is still the spot to go if you want to try the finest the Rum realm has to offer.

Bumbu Rum Company takes pleasure in producing items that are as genuine and ancient as possible. Their rum is rooted in the historical formula developed by West Indian seamen in the 17th century, which combined local Caribbean herbs into their liquor and dubbed it "Bumbu" - the original handcrafted Spirit. Their rum is an authentic restoration of the piece of Caribbean heritage, made with the same natural local spices and no chemical ingredients, fermented in small quantities, and mixed entirely by hand.

Over 400 years of distilling expertise is no joke, and Bumbu The Original Rum is proof of that. The reward is a piece of art in both appearance and content. What does this imply? The grandiose bottle with a large X in front, on the other hand, is absolutely gorgeous. The real excitement, however, begins after the cork is popped.

The rum is made from first-rate sugarcane harvested across the West Indies and matured in Kentucky Bourbon casks for nearly 15 years. This is a wonderfully pleasant drinking Spirit with excellent harmony and depth, and it embodies all you could desire in a super-duper Rum. Every detail about this rum shouts: "CLASS".
