Distilled in Barbados in 2007, it has matured for 15 years in cask #66 before being bottled in Scotland by Adelphi in 2022. With an impressive alcohol content of 61%, this rum is non-chill filtered and maintains its natural color, resulting in a limited release of only 261 bottles. The Adelphi 2007 Foursquare 15-year-old rum presents a very typical, no-surprise Foursquare profile that is both balanced and easy to drink. The alcohol is well integrated, and a few drops of water can enhance the experience. Its profile avoids the excessive opulence found in some sherry or port-aged bottlings, making it a very good offering that stands alongside notable expressions such as ECS 2004 and Plenipotenziario. Initially, the nose might come off a bit sharp, but it quickly settles into delightful notes of caramel, coconut, milk chocolate, and dried fruits. On the palate, you will find flavors of toffee and roasted notes transitioning into coffee and oak. This classic Foursquare profile is indeed a pleasure for rum enthusiasts.
